StreetCo, being the only French LED supplier with stock of uncommon LED products like flexible LED screens, was selected by StudioXag to handle the LED screens for Karl Lagerfeld’s pop-up events in Paris at both Galeries Lafayette and Saint-Germain.

Based primarily in London, StudioXag was looking for a reliable local partner to manage the digital aspect of their project in France, particularly for a brand as prestigious as Karl Lagerfeld.

Karl Lagerfeld, a high-end luxury brand, successfully positioned itself in the heart of Paris’s most iconic shopping destination, Galeries Lafayette, located on the renowned Champs-Élysées. The 1-month pop-up event was designed to showcase the brand’s innovation, style, and presence in one of the world’s most luxurious retail

Solution to install a Flexible LED Column

The idea for this project was to create an impressive and massive LED column in the center of Galeries Lafayette, immersing bystanders into Karl Lagerfeld’s world.

After carefully evaluating the feasibility and budget of the various ideas proposed by StudioXag for Karl Lagerfeld, we ultimately decided on two key installations:

– One massive central LED column for Galeries Lafayette

– One standard indoor LED screen for the Saint-Germain Lagerfeld shop

For the LED column, we selected NIC P2.6 Flexible LED Panels from our stock. We designed a custom wooden structure to support the LED screen and all its accessories, ensuring a secure and visually striking setup.

For the Saint-Germain shop, we used our P2.6 UPADIII rental cabinets, a reliable and professional solution that we also utilize for Virtual Production setups.

Project Lead Time:

– 2 months for design and production

This timeline allowed for the successful execution of both installations, creating an immersive and impactful experience for Karl Lagerfeld’s customers during the pop-up event.

Challenge to install a Flexible LED Column

One of the key challenges for this project was producing the custom wooden cabinet for the LED column. Since each rental project using flexible LED panels requires a custom supporting structure, we had to ensure the LED panels and accessories were perfectly integrated and securely held.

Once the client validated the design drawings, time became very sensitive. We worked closely with StudioXag’s team to quickly fabricate the structure, allowing us to prepare for the on-site installation just a few days later.

The biggest challenge came on the installation night. We had to install the entire LED column in a single night at Galeries Lafayette to ensure the Karl Lagerfeld pop-up store could open the very next day. Despite the tight timeline, the installation was completed on schedule, delivering a stunning and seamless digital experience for the launch.
